My name is Romy and I am a Birth Doula serving Whittier and the surrounding Los Angeles and Orange County cities. I am dedicated to supporting and empowering couples during the birth process. I want you to feel happy about your birth. I want you to come away with a positive birth experience. I want you to feel like you were listened to, cared for and respected. It's your birth!
What do Doulas do?
A doula supports the birthing family before, during and after the birth of the baby. A doula understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a laboring woman. She provides comfort, support and information about birth options. Doulas usually meet with the parents in the second or third trimester of the pregnancy to get acquainted. During the meeting, the doula will learn the expectations of the birth experience and may help develop a birth plan. A doula may teach breathing, relaxation and visualization techniques useful for labor. A doula will be by your side every step of the way, providing continuous labor support. Now doesn't that sound amazing? Don't you think all laboring moms should have a DOULA?!
